We collect personal information by lawful and fair means, and we only collect what is reasonably necessary for our functions and activities. Where it is reasonable and practicable, we collect personal information from you directly.

4. How we collect personal information

We collect personal information in the following ways:

  • Directly from you — when you create an account, place an order, join our mailing list, enter a competition, contact us, leave a review, or apply for a job.
  • Automatically — when you use our website, through cookies, pixels and similar technologies, server logs and analytics tools.
  • From third parties — delivery companies, payment processors, fraud-prevention services, marketing platforms, social media platforms (if you interact with our pages or use social login), and publicly available sources where reasonably necessary.

We collect personal information by lawful and fair means, and we only collect what is reasonably necessary for our functions and activities. Where it is reasonable and practicable, we collect personal information from you directly.

5. Why we collect, hold, use and disclose personal information

We collect, hold, use and disclose personal information for purposes that include:

  • Processing, packing, delivering and fulfilling orders, and handling returns, refunds and exchanges.
  • Creating and managing customer accounts and loyalty programs.
  • Processing payments and preventing fraud or unauthorised transactions.
  • Providing customer support and responding to enquiries and complaints.
  • Sending transactional messages (order confirmations, shipping updates, recalls).
  • Sending marketing communications where permitted (see section 8).
  • Improving our website, products, range and customer experience, including analytics.
  • Running promotions, competitions and surveys.
  • Recruiting staff.
  • Meeting legal, accounting, tax, consumer-law and regulatory obligations.
  • Establishing, exercising or defending legal claims, and managing insurance.

If we need to use personal information for a purpose that is not related to the purpose of collection (and is not otherwise permitted under the APPs), we will seek your consent unless an exception applies.

6. Who we disclose personal information to

We may disclose personal information to:

  • Service providers who help us run the business — website hosting, e-commerce platform, payment processors, warehouses and fulfilment partners, courier and freight companies, email and SMS providers, customer-support tools, analytics and advertising platforms, accountants and professional advisers.
  • Related bodies corporate in the Bigairtrampolines.com.au, for shared administration.
  • A purchaser or prospective purchaser if we sell or restructure all or part of the business, subject to appropriate confidentiality arrangements.
  • Law enforcement, regulators (including the OAIC and ACCC) or other third parties where we are required or authorised by law, or where disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect our rights, property or safety or that of our customers.

We require service providers who handle personal information for us to take reasonable steps to protect it and to use it only for the services they provide to us.

7. Overseas disclosure

Some of our service providers are located, or store or access data, outside Australia. This means we are likely to disclose personal information to overseas recipients.

The countries in which those recipients are likely to be located include:

  • United States (e-commerce platform, payment processing, email/marketing and analytics providers).
  • Singapore and Ireland (cloud hosting and content-delivery services).
  • New Zealand (occasional fulfilment or support partners).
Where we disclose personal information to an overseas recipient, we take steps required by APP 8, which generally means we take reasonable steps to ensure the recipient does not breach the APPs in relation to the information, unless an exception applies (for example, you consent, or the disclosure is required by Australian law).

8. Direct marketing

We may use your personal information to send you information about products, offers, events and our brand by email, SMS or other electronic messages, and to show you relevant advertising on our site and on third-party platforms.

We will only send you electronic marketing where this is permitted under the Privacy Act and the Spam Act 2003 (Cth) — typically because you have consented, or because you are an existing customer and the message relates to similar products or services, and each message includes a functional unsubscribe facility. You can opt out of marketing at any time by using the unsubscribe link in an email, replying STOP to an SMS, updating your account preferences, or contacting us. Opting out of marketing does not affect transactional messages about your orders.

9. Cookies and similar technologies

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to operate the store (for example, keeping items in your cart), to remember preferences, to measure traffic and performance, and — where you have not opted out — to support advertising.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect site features such as checkout. Third-party advertising and analytics providers may also set cookies on our site. Their use of information is governed by their own privacy policies.

10. Automated decision-making

From time to time we arrange for computer programs to use personal information in ways that are substantially and directly related to decisions that could reasonably be expected to significantly affect an individual’s rights or interests. This section is included so that, from 10 December 2026, this policy addresses APPs 1.7–1.9.

Kinds of personal information that may be used in those programs include: order and payment history, delivery address and contact details, device and IP information, and fraud or risk signals supplied by payment and fraud-prevention providers.

Kinds of decisions that may be made solely by the operation of those programs include:

  • Whether a transaction is accepted, held for review, or declined on fraud or payment-risk grounds.
  • Whether an order is released for fulfilment or flagged for manual review.
  • Eligibility for certain promotions or automatically applied discounts based on stated program rules.

Some of these processes involve human review (for example, a held order is checked by our team). If you believe an automated process has affected you unfairly, contact our Privacy Officer and we will review the matter.

11. How we hold and protect personal information

We hold personal information in electronic systems (our e-commerce platform, customer-support tools, email systems and cloud storage) and, to a limited extent, in paper files at our office.

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference and loss, and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. Those steps include access controls, staff training, contractual requirements on service providers, encryption in transit for our website, and restricting access to personal information to staff who need it to do their jobs.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. If we become aware of an eligible data breach under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme, we will notify the OAIC and affected individuals as required by the Privacy Act.

We retain personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purposes set out in this policy, or as required by law (for example tax and consumer-guarantee records). When information is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it.

12. Anonymity and pseudonymity

Where it is lawful and practicable, you may deal with us anonymously or using a pseudonym — for example, browsing the website without an account. It is generally not practicable to remain anonymous if you wish to place an order, create an account, receive a delivery, obtain a refund to a payment method, or join a loyalty program.

13. Access and correction

You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, and you may request that we correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading.

You can update many account details by logging into your account. For other requests, contact our Privacy Officer using the details in section 1. We will respond within a reasonable period (generally within 30 days). We will not charge a fee for lodging a request. We may charge a reasonable fee for giving access if the request is particularly complex, and we will tell you first.

In limited circumstances we may refuse access or correction where the Privacy Act allows us to do so. If we refuse, we will give you written reasons and information about how to complain.

14. Complaints

If you are concerned that we have not handled your personal information in accordance with the APPs or this policy, please contact our Privacy Officer first. We will acknowledge your complaint and aim to investigate and respond within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner:

  • Website: www.oaic.gov.au
  • Phone: 1300 363 992
  • Online complaint form available on the OAIC website.

15. Children

Our store is directed to adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 15 for marketing purposes. If you believe we have collected information from a child inappropriately, contact us and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

16. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology or legal obligations. The current version will be published on our website with an updated “last updated” date. If we make material changes, we may also provide a more prominent notice (for example by email to account holders).

17. How to obtain a copy of this policy

This policy is available free of charge on our website. If you need a copy in another form (for example printed or large print), contact our Privacy Officer and we will take reasonable steps to provide it.
